ABOUT KAT

Author. Advocate. Someone Who Understands.

Kat Shaw is an author and narcissistic abuse awareness advocate whose work sits at the intersection of emotionally honest storytelling and mental health education.

She writes fiction for teens and young adults living it, survivors still processing it, and anyone trying to understand better what someone they love has been through. She brings that same honesty to every speaking engagement and podcast conversation she takes on.

Her mission: to give survivors the language for what they've lived through, and to show them that a different future is real.

WHO THIS IS FOR

If you've ever wondered whether your pain was real, it was.

  • Feeling overwhelmed, isolated, or misunderstood

  • Beginning to recognize that your situation is not normal or healthy

  • Searching for language to describe what you're experiencing

  • Looking for any sign that survival and healing are real

  • Feeling trapped in a home you didn't choose

  • Believing you are broken or unworthy of love

  • Wanting to better understand narcissistic abuse and family trauma — for yourself or someone you love

  • Looking to become a more informed and compassionate advocate

You don't have to have it figured out. You just have to be willing to take one small step.

This space was built for the teenager still searching for words to explain what home feels like. For the young adult beginning to realize their childhood wasn't normal. For the survivor who knows something was wrong but doesn't know where to start.
